Smells like money is flowing.

From what GL says, and the pictures, it does not appear that the community will be best served by replacing that hotel et al with condos.

But based on what craig says, I'm thinking to invest in one of the newly built condos after this thing is torn down. Sounds like the ROI is pretty good.

While the beach itself is nice, outside of a few nice places the west coast of Florida from Tarpon Springs to the tip of St. Petersburg is mostly congested tourist traps with mediocre quality restaurants. Visitors to the area are usually older people on a budget or families with a lot of children. There is not a lot of discretionary income available.

Yeah right. That's why Spring Breakers come to this area now in hoardes, that's why celebrities have multi-million dollar estates here all along the same Gulf Coast you find so easy to denigrate. Down along Gulf Boulevard I see predominantly new Cadillacs, Mercedes and Hummers. It also depends on what tie of the year it is as to what type of people visit here. Canadians come all winter and they are predominantly older, spring breakers from college come in the spring and families come in the summer. You are full of shit to describe this area as some low class travel destination. But then closed minded snobs rarely have a very realistic understanding of anything that does not fit into their own little closed minded view.

Skyline is only one restaurant. There are hundreds of restaurants along the Gulf Coast

Also, I think condo rentals bring in a different class of people than hotel rental (ie, monthly rentals by retirees vs. college spring breakers), so the temporary visitor thing isn't eliminated with condos.

I dunno. I'm interested to know the return on each.

I have several restaurants I like to go to and I frequent them every week. I don't go someplace and pay 3x what a meal is worth just so I can brag that I ate there. That's just stupid. I go where I like the food and I couldn't care less what anyone else thinks of my choice. I live for me and not to try to impress others.

It?s not supposed to impress anybody. Believe me, I never pay more then a meal is worth. I am sure I have walked out of more good restaurants for poor service or poor quality food then you have.

The difference is I know what good food tastes like.
